Privacy
This is a static website. There is no account, no newsletter signup, and no form that stores what you type. The worksheets run in your browser. Printing them does not send the text to us.
If you email hello@italianancestry.org, the message is ordinary email. We use it to answer you. We do not add it to an advertising list. Do not email copies of other people's identity documents.
Analytics and ads, currently off
Three slots exist in the code and do nothing until an ID is saved in the site config:
- Google Analytics 4, which uses cookies if it is turned on.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is a cookieless beacon if it is turned on.
- Google AdSense, which uses advertising cookies if it is turned on. Visitors in the EEA and the UK would then need a certified consent message. That message is not installed, because ads are not running.
While those IDs are empty, the pages do not load those scripts. You can confirm that by viewing the page source.
Affiliate links
A click on an affiliate link leaves this site. The merchant, and the affiliate network once a tracking link is in place, can set their own cookies and see that the click came from here. Read the affiliate disclosure for the list of companies.
Hosting
The site is built as static files. The intended host is Netlify. A host logs IP addresses and request paths in the ordinary course of serving a site. Those logs are the host's, under the host's policy. We do not run our own server logs in this project.
Children
The site is written for adults doing family history. It is not directed at children, and it does not ask children to send information.
